YURY TRUTNEV: DIAMOND EXCHANGE IN VLADIVOSTOK WILL BE OPERATIONAL BY THE START OF THE EEF
23 May 2016
Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, said in an interview to RIA Novosti that a new diamond selling venue will be presented at the Eastern Economic Forum.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the venue will become operational in the autumn and will continue to develop: “The word ‘exchange’ might be too pompous for the moment, but a diamond selling venue in Vladivostok will be launched before the Eastern Economic Forum. I think we will hold a presentation at the Forum. And then we will develop it.”
Currently, diamonds are sold through other countries. Yury Trutnev expressed his doubts about the transparency of the trading scheme: “For some reason, everyone is satisfied. Maybe that is because the scheme is less transparent? I think exchange trading will remove a lot of questions.”
