VLADIMIR PUTIN INVITES SHINZO ABE TO THE EASTERN ECONOMIC FORUM

Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov has announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to the Eastern Economic Forum to be held in Vladivostok on 2―3 September.
Japan is one of Russia’s major trading partners, especially where the Far East is concerned. Japanese investors have already shown considerable interest in implementing projects in this macro-region.
The Japanese-Russian company JGC Evergreen is already a resident of TOP Khabarovsk and has started up a heating complex. The sum of foreign investment in this project currently stands at RUB 500 m, with an increase to RUB 1.5 billion in investments planned.
An application for residence in the Vladivostok Free Port from a Tosei Co.LTD subsidiary has been approved. The company plans to build a special transhipment complex to handle coal arriving at the port by rail and being exported by sea to APR countries.
Another application for residence has been received by TOR Kangalyssy from the Japanese co-investor Hokkaido Corporation, which plans to invest RUB 1.335 billion in building a year-round greenhouse.
