TIMBER PROCESSING INVESTMENT PROJECT IN KHABAROVSK TERRITORY TO RECEIVE STATE SUPPORT

A decision to this effect has been adopted by a special subcommittee on the implementation of investment projects in the Russian Far East and Baikal region, headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev, Far Eastern Capital magazine reports.
Focused on the production of sawn timber in the Solnechny District of Khabarovsk Territory, the project is under implementation by Azia Les. The announced volume of private investment is RUB 7.62 billion. State support for the development of infrastructure will amount to RUB 850 million, to be spent on the construction of a road section and a bridge over the Nimelen River.
The project will result in the creation of an industrial facility with a production capacity of 330,000 cubic metres of sawn timber, 290,000 cubic metres of wood chips, and 84,000 tonnes of fuel pellets per year. About 700 new jobs are expected to be created. The Azia Les investment project is currently is being assessed with a view to giving it residential status in the Komsomolsk Advanced Special Economic Zone.
