THE MINISTRY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE RUSSIAN FAR EAST DISCUSSES DEVELOPMENT OF THE FAR EAST WITH CHINA

First Deputy Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Alexander Osipov meets with Vice Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China ministerial rank Zhong Shan to discuss joint projects of the two countries in the Far Eastern Federal District.
At the meeting, the representatives of Russia and China considered practical aspects of cooperation between the two countries in developing the Far East and implementing joint projects.
Zhong Shan noted that Chinese business was very interested in expanding in the Far East and in the specific instruments at the region’s disposal. Some joint projects are already under way. Construction has been completed in the Priamurskaya Advanced Special Economic Zone of a cement works and an oil refinery is currently under construction.
For his part, Alexander Osipov stressed that there were, indeed, prospects for cooperation in both agriculture and infrastructure projects.
