THE EASTERN ECONOMIC FORUM WILL CONSIDER INTRODUCTION OF A SIMPLIFIED VISA REGIME AT FREE PORT OF VLADIVOSTOK
05 August 2016
This was announced by Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, during his visit to the capital city of the Primorsky Territory, the Primorskaya Gazeta newspaper reports.
A simplified visa regime means that foreigners would be granted a single, eight-day visa for entry into the Russian Federation through the checkpoints of Free Port of Vladivostok (Vladivostok International Airport and the Sea Passenger Terminal).
“We have found the right structure already exists and meets our requirements. I will shortly discuss it with my colleagues from the Government and I expect that, before the start of the Eastern Economic Forum, I will have a reply on how we will implement a simplified visa regime in Vladivostok”, Trutnev said.
Over the past few months, government officials in cooperation with immigration service experts and law enforcement officials considered how to create a regime simplifying the situation for investors and, at the same time, avoid any immigration risks, the envoy said.
