MOLODYOZHNY MINE IN KHABAROVSK TERRITORY TO PRODUCE UP TO 400,000 T OF ORE PER YEAR
22 July 2016
The opening of the mine and associated processing plant was discussed at a meeting between Vyacheslav Shport, Governor of Khabarovsk Territory, and Konstantin Beirit, Director of Russkiye Fondy, an investment group, reports Delovoy Kapital magazine.
The parties assessed the current status and future prospects of tin mining in Khabarovsk Territory. Molodyozhny Mine is already operational. The ore mined there will be processed at the Solnechnaya processing plant in Gorny, which will be commissioned in September 2016. In autumn, the investor will start to draw up plans for a dry tailings storage facility there, in order to ensure environmental safety.
The Festivalny and Perevalny deposits in the region’s Solnechny Municipal District have 30 years of reserves, with potential for further growth. Primorsky Territory is also looking towards developing tin mining in the future.
“We are trying to attract investment to construct a mining and processing plant at the Pravourmysky deposit, which will enable production of up to 5,000 tonnes of tin per year. The cost of the project and its associated infrastructure is RUB 9.5 billion. Requests for federal subsidies have already been sent to the Prime Minister, the Head of the Far East Development Fund, and the Finance Ministry”, said Mr Shport.
