MITSUBISHI TO BUILD METHANOL PLANT IN SAKHALIN
26 August 2016
The company and the Sakhalin regional administration plan to sign an agreement of intent at the Eastern Economic Forum, RIA Novosti reports.
Japan’s Mitsubishi Group is interested in building a methanol plant that would use local offshore gas in Sakhalin. The company may join the Svobodnenskaya Advanced Special Economic Zone in the Amur Region.
“Building the plant will make it possible to fully utilise the potential of the region’s fuel and energy complex and provide added value when processing raw hydrocarbons”, the Sakhalin regional government said.
