30 July 2015
New investment opportunities in the Far East were presented by Maxim Shereykin, Deputy Head of the Ministry of the Development of the Far East, during a briefing with representatives of Chinese business in Beijing.
According to the Deputy Minister, favorable conditions for investment are being created in the Far East Region. New mechanisms for effective development of the macroregion and prospective investment projects will be demonstrated at the Eastern Economic Forum. “Before the Forum, we gathered over 200 investment projects. Thus, our guests will have an opportunity to discover the potential of the Far East through the eyes of project investors,” said Shereykin at the briefing.
The first Eastern Economic Forum will combine representatives of government bodies from Russia and the Asia-Pacific Region, major investors, businessmen, and industry experts. The Chinese delegation is expected to be the largest. The Forum is primarily related to enhanced cooperation between the Far Eastern regions and northeastern Chinese provinces. “Expansion and intensification of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the Russian Far East is our conscious and weighted choice. We are open to interaction with all interested partners in order to develop our countries,” he underlined.
