Chinese investors to build new venue for EEF in Vladivostok
14 December 2016
Secretary General of the China Overseas Development Association Mr He Zhenwei announced at a meeting with Governor of Primorsky Territory Vladimir Miklushevsky that Chinese investors plan to build a new venue for the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, according to a Primorsky Territory Government press release.
Mr He noted that a similar convention and exhibition centre project had been completed in the Chinese city of Sanya, where a nine-building hotel has been erected on the seashore.
“We believe that establishing an exhibition complex in the Primorye Integrated Entertainment Zone is a judicious move.Construction of several hotels is planned for the gambling zone, a number of which are to be built by our companies. In addition, the fact that it is in a resort area will allow the facility to be fully operational all year round”, noted Mr He.
The Governor of Primorsky Territory also noted that the region is interested in implementing such a project, which, among other things, should become the new venue for the Eastern Economic Forum.
“Already, the buildings available on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University are proving insufficient for such a large event. Presidential Envoy Yury Trutnev has instructed that such a project be developed, and investors from Primorsky Territory are willing to get involved. In my opinion, a new exhibition centre will provide a good return on investment, considering the prospects and pace of development of Vladivostok and Primorsky Territory”, stated Mr Miklushevsky.
