ALEXANDER GALUSHKA: RUSSIAN FAR EAST TO BRING IN FURTHER CHINESE INVESTMENTS
23 August 2016
According to the Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East, there are many encouraging signs of Chinese investors coming to ASEZs and the Vladivostok Free Port, Xinhua News Agency reports.
“Over 16% of all investments made in the Russian Far East over the past year using the new development tools have come from China,” Alexander Galushka stated.
Among the most notable joint projects are the construction by Chinese investors of an oil refinery in Amur Region and the creation of the Russia–China Agricultural Fund. The minister also noted that the parties are engaged in productive dialogue on the development of international transport corridors linking northeastern China and the south of Primorsky Territory.
“We must recognize that what we are seeing now are the very first results. We hope that these steps mark the beginning of a long-term, multi-faceted and mutually beneficial partnership, set to provide great benefits to both Russia and China,” Galushka emphasized.
