ALEXANDER GALUSHKA: LOWER ELECTRICITY TARIFFS ARE VITAL FOR DEVELOPMENT OF THE FAR EAST

Alexander Galushka, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East, stressed the need to lower energy tariffs for the Far East at the meeting of Vladimir Putin and members of the Government”, according to a press release by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East says.
“Another factor impeding development of the Far East is being dealt with currently: that is to lowering electricity tariffs in the Far East to average Russian levels. A draft law to implement the decision you have adopted is completely ready for consideration during the autumn session of the State Duma, which will allow us to begin reducing energy tariffs in the Far East starting from January 1, 2017”, Galushka said.
The mechanism for bringing electricity tariffs for industrial consumers in the Far East down to average Russian levels was developed by the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia and other federal authorities, involving the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, in accordance with instructions given by the head of state.
